Byzance Vintage Trash Splash The sandblasted surface and the different sized cut-outs give the cymbal a unique look and lots of trashiness. Remarkably soft feel due to its thinner weight and sandblasted finish.
The additional 8" & 16" Smack Stack cymbals are designed to go with the standard 10"/12"/14" set more sound variations, more volume and a fatter tone.

Crafted with age in mind, the Vintage voice within Byzance has unique features that simulate the aging process of a cymbal to couple relic sounds with modern appeal. The Vintage line was born from the Sand Ride, a flagship cymbal developed with Meinl Cymbals artist, Benny Greb; now, it includes a wide array of cymbals which have helped to define the Meinl sound. Made in Turkey from B20 bronze and hand-hammered into shape. Sand models feature narrow blade lathing and a sandblasted finish, whereas Vintage Pure models are unlathed and raw.
A completely unique look and sound is found in this instrument. It starts with hand-hammering and undergoes several steps until the holes are added. The result is cymbal that quickly speaks with a trashy, white-noise burst followed by fast, dry decay. Great for accents and stacking.

Matt Garstka’s signature Equilibrium ride features a piercing bell that works in aggressive music, a nice stick attack with pleasing overtones for jazz-like patterns that are common in progressive music, and a crash-ability that doesn’t interfere with the former two attributes. "We didn't rush anything and I feel very good about that," says Matt. "We came up with something that has a great spread to it. This is in full balance. It has the full range of expression that I was looking for in a ride."
