Meinl Pure Alloy Custom Cymbal Set (PAC14MTH, PAC18MTC, PAC20MTR)

This set of Pure Alloy Custom cymbals, with their medium-thin weights, produce a smooth attack with a warm body and fast decay while maintaining a bright shimmer and clean sustain. The 14” hihats are crisp and sensitive, the 18” crash responds with a fast attack and quick decay, and the 20” ride has a warm articulation and a clear bell. 

The new addition adds a new tone to the popular Sand series that was developed with Meinl Artist Benny Greb, this cymbals is a dark sounding cymbal with short sustain. What stands out is its relatively trashy crash sound with a modern white-noise character.

The Meinl Byzance 19" Traditional Medium Thin Crash is made from B20 bronze alloy to create a complex spread of harmonics. When struck, the Traditional Medium Thin Crash produces a washy and dark sound, filling the frequency spectrum with complex tones. With its high-mid pitch sitting above the drums and filling the top end, the drums have room to speak and be heard.

A loud attack makes it great for accents, whilst a medium sustain makes it useful for complex crash grooves too. Defined by its warm, smooth character, it is ideal for a range of musical styles, including Fusion, Pop, Rock, Jazz, Funk and more. The Byzance Traditional Medium Thin Crash sits comfortably in any of these settings, cutting through without being harsh.

This is one of the Into Music Hand Select Meinl Byzance Cymbals. Recently selected from the vault in Germany. This was specially selected by Jake out of multiples of the same cymbal and will come with the special HAND SELECTED BY INTO MUSIC STAMP on the bottom. The Byzance vintage cymbals feature a low, dark and somewhat dry washy sound that isn’t too soft or loud. With its great stick definition and short sustain, you can dig into Byzance Vintage for total control at all times. It’s a sound that fits into any music that isn’t in the upper decibel levels.

Crafted with age in mind, the Vintage voice within Byzance has unique features that simulate the aging process of a cymbal to couple relic sounds with modern appeal. The Vintage line was born from the Sand Ride, a flagship cymbal developed with Meinl Cymbals artist, Benny Greb; now, it includes a wide array of cymbals which have helped to define the Meinl sound. Made in Turkey from B20 bronze and hand-hammered into shape. Sand models feature narrow blade lathing and a sandblasted finish, whereas Vintage Pure models are unlathed and raw.

Made in Germany from Pure Alloy Bronze (B12), Meinl wanted to make these Cymbals stand out. A New finish was applied on the top of these cymbals called Custom Smoked-Bronze and a brilliant finish has been left on the bottom. Pure Alloy Custom crashes are slightly warmer with a bright cut and shimmering response.The Pure Alloy Custom ride has a medium-thin weight along with a cutting bell, creating a nice balance of stick attack and wash for wider dynamic range and fuller tonal spectrum.
