Cympad was founded on a simple but powerful insight: the felt washers that have been used to mount cymbals for decades are a largely overlooked variable in cymbal tone and performance. By replacing standard felts with precision-engineered cellular foam pads, Cympad demonstrated that it's possible to meaningfully improve cymbal resonance, sustain and projection — or conversely, to reduce volume significantly — without any permanent modification to the cymbal or stand.

The Moderator range is Cympad's most widely known product line, and for good reason.
