Schools and Music Teachers

Schools and Music Teachers - We're Here to Help

Into Music Store is proud to support schools, music teachers, peripatetic tutors, and music services across the UK. Whether you're equipping a school drum kit room, buying sticks and heads in bulk for your students, or looking to take advantage of the Assisted Instrument Purchase Scheme, we're set up to make the process as straightforward as possible.

We're a specialist drum shop - not a general music retailer - which means you're getting genuine expertise and honest advice on every purchase. Get in touch and we'll look after you.

What We Can Help With

  • Drum kits for schools and music rooms - we can advise on the right kit for a school environment, balancing durability, sound, and budget. We stock beginner through to professional kits from all the major brands
  • Electronic drum kits - ideal for schools where noise is a concern. E-kits allow students to practise with headphones and are significantly quieter than acoustic kits
  • Bulk orders on sticks, heads, and accessories - if you're buying for multiple students or a whole department, get in touch for a quote. We can often offer better pricing on larger orders
  • Snare drums and practice pads - for individual student use, peripatetic teaching, and exam preparation
  • Percussion instruments - cajons, djembes, hand percussion, and Latin instruments for classroom and ensemble use
  • Replacement heads, sticks, and hardware - keeping your existing kit in good condition is often more cost-effective than replacing it. We stock everything you need

Assisted Instrument Purchase Scheme (AIPS)

The Assisted Instrument Purchase Scheme is a government initiative that allows eligible students to purchase brand new musical instruments VAT-free - a saving of 20%. Into Music Store is happy to support families and schools taking advantage of this scheme.

To qualify, the student must be in full-time state education and receiving music tuition at school. The instrument must be brand new and portable, and goods must be collected from the school.

Find out everything you need to know on our Assisted Instrument Purchase Scheme page, or get in touch and we'll walk you through the process.

Purchase Orders and Invoicing

We're happy to work with schools and music services on official purchase orders. If your school or organisation requires a formal quote or needs to raise a purchase order before payment, just get in touch and we'll accommodate your procurement process.

Email us at info@intomusicstore.com with your requirements and we'll put together a quote for you.

Advice and Recommendations

Not sure what kit to buy for a school music room, or which heads and sticks will stand up to heavy student use? We've supplied schools and teachers across the UK and we know what works in an educational environment. We're always happy to give honest, practical advice - just get in touch.

Some things worth knowing for school and teaching environments:

  • Drumheads - coated heads are generally more durable and forgiving for beginners than clear heads. Evans and Remo both make excellent heads suited to heavy use
  • Drumsticks - 5A hickory is the standard recommendation for students. Buying in bulk keeps costs down - we stock Promuco and Vater Goodwood as great value options for teaching use
  • Practice pads - essential for students practising at home or warming up before lessons. Browse our practice pad range
  • Hearing protection - important for both teachers and students. We stock a range of musician-grade hearing protection including Alpine products designed for regular use
  • Drum care - keeping school kits in good condition extends their life significantly. See our Drum Care and Maintenance guide and our cleaning and maintenance products

Music Teachers - Personal Purchases

If you're a music teacher buying for your own use - a teaching kit, a demo snare, sticks, or accessories - we're happy to help with that too. We offer the same expert advice and service whether you're buying one pair of sticks or a full kit setup.

If you're looking to upgrade your own kit or put your current gear towards something new, our part exchange service is worth exploring.
