Part Exchange Your Drums

Part Exchange Your Drums - Upgrade for Less

Ready for a new kit but not sure what to do with your current one? A part exchange with Into Music Store is one of the smartest ways to upgrade. We'll value your existing gear and put it straight towards anything in our store - new or pre-owned - so you only pay the difference.

It's simple, fair, and means your old kit goes to a good home rather than sitting in a corner gathering dust.

Why Part Exchange with Into Music Store?

  • Fair valuations - we know drums. We've been buying and selling pre-owned gear since 2016 and we price honestly. You won't get a lowball offer from us.
  • Put it towards anything - your part exchange value can go towards any new or pre-owned item in our store, whether that's a full kit, a snare, cymbals, hardware, or anything else.
  • No hassle selling - selling privately means listing fees, time-wasters, and the stress of strangers coming to your house. A part exchange with us is clean, quick, and straightforward.
  • We handle everything in-house - all pre-owned gear we take in is inspected, restored, and serviced by our team before going back on sale. We take pride in what we sell.
  • We're drum specialists - we're not a general second-hand shop. We know exactly what your gear is worth and what it'll sell for, which means we can offer you a fair deal.

What We Accept

We consider part exchanges on a wide range of drum and percussion gear, including:

  • Acoustic drum kits - full kits or individual shells
  • Electronic drum kits
  • Cymbals - individual pieces or full sets
  • Snare drums
  • Hardware - stands, pedals, racks, thrones
  • Cases and bags
  • Drum machines and electronic percussion
  • Percussion instruments

We consider all brands and conditions. Whether your kit is in showroom condition or has seen a few years of heavy gigging, get in touch and we'll take a look.

How It Works

  1. Get in touch - Email us at info@intomusicstore.com with details of what you have. Include the brand, model, age, condition, and as many photos as you can. The more information you give us, the quicker we can come back to you with a valuation.
  2. We'll value your gear - One of the team will review your enquiry and come back to you with a part exchange valuation. We'll be upfront about what we can offer and why.
  3. Tell us what you want - Let us know what you're looking to upgrade to. We'll work out the difference and confirm the deal. If you're not sure what you want yet, browse our full range for inspiration.
  4. Bring it in or arrange delivery - You're welcome to bring your gear to our showroom in Horncastle, Lincolnshire for a final inspection. For larger items, we can discuss collection options.
  5. Walk away with your new gear - Once we've agreed the deal and inspected your part exchange, you take home your new kit and we take care of the rest.

Part Exchange vs Selling Outright

Not sure whether to part exchange or sell outright? Here's a quick comparison:

  • Part exchange is the easiest option if you already know what you want to upgrade to. The value goes straight towards your new purchase and there's no cash changing hands.
  • Selling outright gives you cash in hand, which you can then spend on whatever you like - including with us. It's a good option if you're not sure yet what you want next, or if you want to take your time choosing.

We offer both options - find out more about selling outright on our Sell Your Drums page.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much will I get for my kit?
Every valuation is different and depends on the brand, model, age, condition, and current market demand. We'll always give you an honest figure based on what we know the gear is worth. Get in touch and we'll give you a no-obligation valuation.

Do I need to bring my kit in before getting a valuation?
No - send us photos and details by email first and we'll give you an indicative valuation. We'll do a final check when the gear arrives, but we won't spring any surprises on you.

Can I part exchange towards pre-owned gear?
Yes - your part exchange value can go towards anything in our store, new or pre-owned. We have one of the biggest collections of pre-owned drums in the UK, so there's plenty to choose from.

What if my gear needs some work?
That's fine - we factor condition into our valuation. We have the skills and experience to restore and repair gear in-house, so don't be put off by a few battle scars.

Can I part exchange online or do I need to visit?
You can start the process entirely by email. We'll agree a deal remotely and then arrange for the gear to come to us - either by you dropping it off or by arranging collection for larger items.
