In terms of looks, the Icarus is a stunner. A real head turner. Nicko McBrain is one of the U.K’s must successful and much loved drummers of all time and as such, would only put his name to a snare drum that he trusts. During the development it was apparent that Nicko’s uncompromising approach would lead to a drum with a build quality of only the highest standards.

The 14” x 6.5”, 10 ply shell is hand built in the U.K, crafted from Black Oak and finished in a beautiful Black Fishtail Oak veneer. The British Drum Co.’s unique cold-press moulding system is used to ensure that the shell is perfect.

Sonically, Icarus sounds natural, warm & deep though it possesses a brighter presence if tensioned higher. It’s particularly designed to pack a powerful punch and cut through in high volume situations forging a backbeat that dominates the stage in a rock or metal situation. It’s also a gentle giant, responding equally well to quieter playing where the tonal qualities of the oak shell can be appreciated.

Nicko wouldn’t have his name on any old drum. This is the snare drum he chooses to play and you can get your hands on one too.
