The 14” x 6.5”, 10 ply shell is hand built in the U.K, crafted from Black Oak and finished in a beautiful Black Fishtail Oak veneer. The British Drum Co.’s unique cold-press moulding system is used to ensure that the shell is perfect.
Sonically, Icarus sounds natural, warm & deep though it possesses a brighter presence if tensioned higher. It’s particularly designed to pack a powerful punch and cut through in high volume situations forging a backbeat that dominates the stage in a rock or metal situation. The Super 7 really is quite a special drum. The inner shell is handcrafted from sumptuous Purpleheart veneers with an outer finished in high-gloss lacquered Fiddleback Sycamore. The 13” x 7” size offers drummers a higher pitch without sacrificing the “body” of the drum’s tone. The inclusion of no less than four vents adds sensitivity and increases the volume - this is a loud drum!
