Istanbul Agop Sultan 16" Crash Cymbal
The Istanbul Agop Sultan 16" Crash Cymbal delivers a dark, warm and complex crash sound with the organic character of traditional Turkish cymbal making. Handmade in Turkey, the Sultan Series combines lathed and unlathed surfaces to create a distinctive balance of warmth, dryness and rich musical overtones.
The compact 16" diameter gives this crash a fast, responsive feel, allowing it to open quickly with an expressive attack before developing into a warm, textured wash. Its relatively quick response makes it particularly useful for accents and situations where a larger crash may produce too much sustain.
A defining feature of the Istanbul Agop Sultan Series is its combination of traditionally lathed areas with raw, unlathed sections. This distinctive construction blends the openness of a lathed cymbal with the darker, drier qualities of an unlathed surface, giving the Sultan Crash its recognisable tonal character.
Responsive across a wide range of dynamics, the 16" Sultan Crash works beautifully as a main crash for players who prefer smaller cymbals or as a contrasting secondary crash alongside larger models.

Why Choose the Istanbul Agop Sultan 16" Crash?
The Istanbul Agop Sultan 16" Crash is an excellent choice for drummers looking for a smaller crash with plenty of warmth, complexity and individual character. Its 16" diameter provides a quick response and focused feel, while the distinctive Sultan construction gives it a darker, more nuanced voice than a conventional bright crash.
It also makes an excellent secondary crash, adding a faster and more controlled tonal option alongside larger cymbals within your setup.
As a traditionally handmade cymbal, individual Istanbul Agop cymbals can vary slightly in weight, appearance and tonal character. Want to hear this exact cymbal before ordering? Contact the Into Music team and we'll be happy to provide a sound file where available.
