Istanbul Agop 30th Anniversary 22" Ride Cymbal
The Istanbul Agop 30th Anniversary 22" Ride Cymbal is a beautifully complex, dark and expressive ride created to celebrate Istanbul Agop's rich cymbal-making heritage. Handmade in Turkey using traditional techniques, the 30th Anniversary Series is designed for players seeking an exceptionally musical cymbal with depth, warmth and an unmistakably individual character.
At 22 inches, this ride delivers a broad, rich voice with a dark tonal foundation and a complex blend of overtones. Stick definition remains present within the wash, creating an organic balance between articulation and ambience that responds naturally to changes in playing dynamics.
The thin, expressive character allows the cymbal to open up beautifully when played towards the edge, giving it excellent crash/ride versatility. Played more delicately, it provides subtle definition and a warm, smoky wash; dig in harder and the cymbal develops into a broad, expressive crash.
Its aged-looking surface, extensive hand hammering and traditional construction give the 30th Anniversary Ride a distinctive appearance that reflects its equally individual sound. Rather than delivering the consistency and brightness associated with more modern cymbal designs, this is a ride for players who value nuance, complexity and dynamic response.
