Istanbul Agop 30th Anniversary 26" Ride Cymbal
The Istanbul Agop 30th Anniversary 26" Ride Cymbal is an extraordinary oversized ride with a huge, dark and deeply complex voice. Handmade in Turkey using traditional cymbal-making techniques, this imposing 26" model takes the organic, expressive character of the 30th Anniversary Series to an impressive scale.
Its enormous 26" diameter produces a deep, low-pitched voice with a broad tonal spread and rich layers of complex overtones. Stick definition sits naturally within the cymbal's wash, creating an immersive, organic sound rather than the bright and highly focused response associated with more conventional modern rides.
The sheer size of the cymbal gives it an exceptionally broad dynamic range. Played lightly, it can produce subtle articulation surrounded by a warm bed of overtones. As more energy is introduced, the cymbal builds into an expansive wash with tremendous depth and presence.
Played towards the edge, the 26" 30th Anniversary Ride can open into a huge, expressive crash, giving it outstanding crash/ride potential. This makes it particularly appealing to players who treat their ride as a dynamic and textural part of the kit rather than simply a source of stick definition.
Extensive hand hammering, traditional construction and the distinctive aged appearance give each 30th Anniversary cymbal its own individual character, making this an exceptional choice for players seeking something genuinely distinctive.
