Istanbul Agop Sultan 8" Splash Cymbal – ISSP8
The Istanbul Agop Sultan 8" Splash Cymbal (ISSP8) delivers a fast, dark and characterful accent with the distinctive tonal complexity of the Sultan Series. Handmade in Turkey, this compact splash combines lathed and unlathed surfaces to create an expressive blend of warmth, dryness and rich overtones.
Its small 8" diameter provides an exceptionally quick response with an immediate attack and very short decay. This makes the Sultan Splash ideal for sharp accents, intricate grooves and creative effects where a larger cymbal would produce too much volume or sustain.
A defining feature of the Istanbul Agop Sultan Series is its combination of traditionally lathed areas with raw, unlathed sections. This construction brings together the openness of a lathed cymbal with the darker, drier qualities of an unlathed surface, giving the ISSP8 a more complex and organic voice than a conventional bright splash.
Compact and easy to incorporate into virtually any cymbal setup, the Sultan 8" Splash is an excellent option for adding another tonal colour without taking up excessive space.

Why Choose the Istanbul Agop Sultan 8" Splash?
The Istanbul Agop Sultan 8" Splash is ideal for drummers looking for an extremely quick effects cymbal with more warmth and complexity than a conventional bright splash. Its compact 8" diameter speaks instantly and disappears just as quickly, making it particularly effective for precise accents and detailed playing.
The distinctive Sultan construction adds an earthy, nuanced tonal character, making the ISSP8 a great addition to darker or more traditional cymbal setups.
As a traditionally handmade cymbal, individual Istanbul Agop cymbals can vary slightly in weight, appearance and tonal character. Want to hear this exact cymbal before ordering? Contact the Into Music team and we'll be happy to provide a sound file where available.
