Istanbul Agop Turk 16" Crash Cymbal
The Istanbul Agop Turk 16" Crash Cymbal delivers a dry, dark and highly controlled crash sound with the distinctive raw character of Istanbul Agop's Turk Series. Handmade in Turkey, the Turk range is known for its unlathed surface, earthy tone and focused response, making it an excellent choice for drummers looking for something different from a conventional bright crash.
At 16 inches, this crash offers a fast and responsive feel with a short, controlled decay. Its compact size allows it to open quickly, producing a focused attack followed by a dry, complex spread of overtones without excessive wash or sustain.
The unlathed finish is central to the Turk Series sound, helping create a darker and drier response while giving each cymbal its unmistakable raw appearance. This controlled character makes the 16" Turk Crash particularly useful for quick accents, detailed playing and situations where a traditional crash might produce too much sustain.
Its combination of fast response, earthy overtones and controlled projection makes it a versatile choice for jazz, fusion, funk, alternative, acoustic and studio applications.

Why Choose the Istanbul Agop Turk 16" Crash?
The Istanbul Agop Turk 16" Crash is ideal for drummers who want a compact crash with a dry, controlled and distinctly organic voice. Its 16" diameter responds quickly, while the unlathed construction provides a darker and more focused sound than a conventional fully lathed crash.
It works particularly well as a fast main crash, secondary crash or contrasting voice alongside brighter cymbals, adding a distinctive earthy texture to your setup.
As a traditionally handmade cymbal, individual Istanbul Agop cymbals can vary slightly in weight, appearance and tonal character. Want to hear this exact cymbal before ordering? Contact the Into Music team and we'll be happy to provide a sound file where available.
