Istanbul Agop Sultan 20" Jazz Ride Cymbal – ISJR20
The Istanbul Agop Sultan 20" Jazz Ride Cymbal (ISJR20) delivers a dark, warm and complex ride sound with the expressive character associated with traditional Turkish cymbal making. Handmade in Turkey, the Sultan Series combines lathed and unlathed surfaces to create a distinctive balance of articulation, controlled dryness and rich musical overtones.
At 20 inches, the Sultan Jazz Ride offers a focused and responsive feel while retaining plenty of tonal depth. Stick definition remains clear within a warm, complex wash, allowing detailed ride patterns to remain articulate without sounding overly bright or clinical.
A defining feature of the Istanbul Agop Sultan Series is its combination of lathed and raw, unlathed areas. This distinctive construction blends the openness and warmth of traditional lathing with the darker, drier character of an unlathed surface, resulting in a nuanced ride sound with plenty of personality.
Designed with expressive playing in mind, the 20" Sultan Jazz Ride responds naturally to changes in touch and dynamics. Played lightly, it offers delicate articulation and subtle texture, while stronger playing introduces a broader wash and increased complexity.
Its combination of control, warmth and dynamic sensitivity makes it particularly well suited to jazz, fusion, acoustic music and studio applications.
