Does the P85 include a butt plate?
The P85 refers to the strainer itself. Ludwig historically used the PS85 designation for the complete replacement kit including the P85 strainer and P32 butt plate.
Can I upgrade a P85 to the newer Ludwig P88?
Yes. Ludwig designed the newer P88 throw-off to fit drums previously using P83, P85 and P86 strainers, making the P88AC a popular modern upgrade option.
