The Mapex Armory Drum Kit Shell Pack in Blue Wave Burst combines versatile maple/birch hybrid shells with professional Mapex features and a striking premium finish. Designed to deliver a powerful, balanced sound across a huge range of musical styles, the Armory is an excellent choice for gigging, recording and serious everyday playing.
At the heart of the Mapex Armory Series is its maple/birch hybrid shell construction, combining the warmth and body of maple with the attack, projection and definition associated with birch. The result is a punchy yet musical drum sound capable of handling everything from rock and pop through to funk, alternative, metal and contemporary session work.
Finished in distinctive Blue Wave Burst, the Armory combines versatile performance with a premium appearance designed to stand out on stage.
Maple/Birch Hybrid Shells
The defining sound of the Mapex Armory comes from its hybrid shell construction.
Maple contributes warmth, body and a rounded fundamental tone, while birch adds attack, focus and projection. Combining the two creates a versatile shell with plenty of punch and definition without sacrificing warmth or musicality.
This balanced tonal character makes the Armory equally comfortable delivering powerful live drum sounds or controlled, detailed tones in the studio.
SONIClear Bearing Edges
Mapex SONIClear bearing edges are designed to optimise contact between the drumhead and shell, helping the heads seat correctly and allowing the drums to tune easily across a broad range.
The result is a strong fundamental note with excellent resonance and response. Whether you prefer deep, powerful tom sounds or tighter, more articulate tunings, the Armory provides plenty of flexibility.
SONIClear Suspension System
The SONIClear suspension system securely supports the rack toms while allowing the shells to resonate naturally.
By minimising unnecessary restriction of the shell, the mounting system helps maximise sustain and tonal depth while providing the positioning flexibility required for a comfortable setup.
Includes Armory Tomahawk Snare Drum
Applicable Mapex Armory shell pack configurations also include the 14" x 5.5" Armory Tomahawk steel snare drum.
The steel shell provides a crisp, articulate response with plenty of attack and projection, making it an excellent complement to the warmer maple/birch shells of the bass drum and toms.
Blue Wave Burst Finish
The Blue Wave Burst finish gives the Mapex Armory an eye-catching contemporary appearance.
Its combination of rich blue tones and graduated burst detailing creates impressive visual depth across the shells, producing a premium finish that looks particularly striking under stage lighting.
For players who want something more distinctive than a traditional solid or sparkle finish, Blue Wave Burst gives the Armory plenty of individual character.
