Mapex Saturn Evolution Maple/Walnut Drum Kit Shell Pack 22" - Exotic Sunburst

Mapex Saturn Evolution Maple/Walnut Drum Kit Shell Pack 22" – Exotic Sunburst

The Mapex Saturn Evolution Maple/Walnut 22" Drum Kit Shell Pack in Exotic Sunburst is a professional-level acoustic drum kit combining premium shell construction, innovative Mapex hardware and a beautifully detailed exotic finish. Built for demanding live and studio applications, the Saturn Evolution takes the celebrated Saturn sound and adds even greater flexibility, resonance and refinement.

At the heart of the kit are Mapex's renowned maple and walnut hybrid shells. Combining the warmth and projection of maple with the darker, richer low-end character of walnut, the Saturn Evolution delivers a powerful yet beautifully balanced drum sound with excellent depth and definition.

The result is a kit capable of moving effortlessly between controlled studio playing and powerful live performance, with a broad tuning range that makes it suitable for everything from rock and pop to funk, fusion and contemporary session work.

Maple/Walnut Hybrid Shells

The Mapex Saturn maple/walnut shell formula has become one of the defining characteristics of the Saturn Series.

Maple provides warmth, projection and a balanced fundamental tone, while walnut contributes additional depth and low-frequency richness. Together, they create a full-bodied drum sound with plenty of attack, warmth and controlled low end.

This hybrid construction gives the Saturn Evolution its distinctive combination of power and musicality, allowing the drums to remain clear and defined even in dense mixes.

SONIClear Bearing Edges

Mapex SONIClear bearing edges are designed to improve contact between the drumhead and shell, helping the drums tune easily while encouraging a strong fundamental note and consistent response.

The result is a broad, usable tuning range with excellent resonance and a clear tonal centre – equally useful when tuning low and powerful or tighter and more articulate.

Halo Mounting System

The Saturn Evolution incorporates Mapex's Halo mounting system, designed to minimise unnecessary restriction of the shell while providing secure and flexible tom positioning.

By allowing the drums to resonate more freely, the mounting system complements the maple/walnut shells and helps maximise sustain, tonal depth and projection.

22" Bass Drum Configuration

Built around a 22" bass drum, this Saturn Evolution shell pack delivers the low-end power and presence expected from a professional full-size drum kit.

The 22" configuration is exceptionally versatile, offering the punch and projection required for rock and contemporary music while retaining the sensitivity and control needed for recording and more dynamic playing.

Exotic Sunburst Finish

The stunning Exotic Sunburst finish gives this Saturn Evolution kit a suitably premium appearance.

Combining the natural character of an exotic outer veneer with a rich sunburst treatment, the finish highlights the grain of the wood and gives each drum exceptional depth and detail. It's a sophisticated finish designed to look every bit as impressive on stage as the kit sounds.
