The Rohema Hornwood 8H is one of the most distinctive sticks in the Rohema range exceptionally long and slender, with a taper that begins from roughly the midpoint of the stick and narrows gradually all the way to the tip. This extended taper is the 8H's defining characteristic: it creates an unusually balanced feel in the hand, with the weight distributed in a way that makes the stick feel almost effortless to control, even at very low volumes.
At 415 mm long and just 13 mm in diameter, the 8H is built for delicate, quiet playing where sensitivity and nuance are everything. The laminated beech Hornwood construction is key to making this work: despite the slim diameter, the high-density laminated wood gives the stick a satisfying weight in the hand that a natural wood stick of the same size simply couldn't match. The result is a stick that feels substantial and controlled without ever feeling heavy or cumbersome.
The small rounded tip keeps the cymbal sound focused and refined — ideal for jazz, orchestral work, or any low-volume context where every stroke needs to count. If you play in situations where restraint and touch are the measure of a great performance, the 8H is a stick worth knowing.
