Developed in close collaboration with Jost Nickel, the SONOR Jost Nickel Signature Snare Drum combines an unusual 14" x 6.25" size with an exceptionally substantial 14-ply, 9mm German Beech shell.
Handcrafted in Germany, the drum was designed around Jost's decades of experience as a performer, educator and clinician. The heavy Beech shell delivers a powerful, articulate response with plenty of projection, while the distinctive Piano Black finish and Silver Sparkle centre stripe make this one of the most recognisable snares in SONOR's Signature range.
14-Ply Heavy Beech Shell
At the heart of Jost Nickel's Signature snare is a unique 14-ply, 9mm Heavy Beech shell.
The substantial shell construction is paired with the slightly unusual 14" x 6.25" dimensions chosen specifically for Jost's Signature model.
SONOR describes the drum as well balanced across the mids and lows while providing a powerful attack – making it a versatile premium main snare with plenty of presence and projection.
Piano Black & Silver Sparkle
The shell is finished in a deep Piano Black high-gloss lacquer, broken by a contrasting Silver Sparkle stripe running around the centre of the drum.
Chrome hardware and a dedicated Jost Nickel Signature badge complete the distinctive appearance.
2.3mm Power Hoops & Dual Glide
SONOR fits the drum with 2.3mm Power Hoops, providing a solid playing feel while allowing the Beech shell to retain its characteristic response.
SONOR double lugs incorporate the TuneSafe system, designed to help prevent tension rods from loosening during playing and maintain consistent tuning.
