The SONOR Kompressor 13" x 7" Brass Snare Drum combines a compact 13" diameter with a deep 7" shell, delivering a powerful, articulate brass voice with plenty of body, projection and sensitivity.
At the heart of the drum is a 1.2mm brass shell, finished in striking Black Nickel and paired with chrome hardware. The slightly smaller 13" diameter gives the drum a focused character, while the additional 7" depth adds body and presence – making this a versatile alternative to a conventional 14" brass snare.
SONOR's Optimum Shell Measurement (OSM) slightly reduces the shell diameter to improve contact between the shell, bearing edge and drumhead, allowing the heads to vibrate more freely across different tunings.
1.2mm Brass Shell
Brass is a classic snare drum material, combining a lively response and strong projection with a fuller, more rounded character than many steel shells.
The Kompressor uses a 1.2mm brass shell with 45° bearing edges, giving the drum plenty of definition and sensitivity while retaining the depth and body you'd expect from a 7" shell.
Its Black Nickel plated finish gives the drum a distinctive darker appearance, contrasted against chrome hoops and hardware.
SONOR TuneSafe Lugs
